Pros
Pay is better than minimum wage and holiday pay is great for part-time workers. The discount is great if you shop there. The prices are a little higher than most stores, but there is a wider selection. The pay is decent, especially if you live close. Do not commute. If you work in the Receiving department there are opportunities to become Forklift certified, which looks good on your resume. There are some perks to working in every department and once you are employed it is easier to get an interview with management. There are benefits packages, however, they are not available to part-timers and some cannot afford to pay into it. Management does communicate the Bass Pro news and policies to employees and does keep everyone informed of events and special events.
Cons
Promotions will be more highly considered for people who have previous management experience, even from non-Bass Pro Shop employers. It is harder for entry level employees to be promoted with little to no experience in the warehouse/retail industries. Pay raises are very low and are not random. There is one after the 90-days (if you do not work PACE= if you do then you might not get a 90 day) and one every year after that.
