Pros

Decent discount on merchandise, but only off regular price and often the sales prices were cheaper. Most other employees were great to work with. I love their products.

Cons

A lot of favouritism at the location I was at. Manager always lefts early and asked us to sign her out of the system much later than she actually left to inflate her hours. Sometimes it was busy at night, only a sales lead and cashier on duty, no time for your break (still lose the pay for that time). Manager would text me first thing every morning berating me for any little thing that we couldn't get to the night before. Every morning I was afraid to check my texts. Only paid for 30 minutes after closing which was usually not enough, often stayed later and did not get paid. Horrible pay, only $2 more an hour than the cashier and you were in charge of everything, including meeting ridiculous quotas. If you didn't meet them you had to write an explanation as to why they weren't met. Company is crazy about changing floor displays, every few weeks a team of employees had to work from close until 3/4 AM on a Sunday night to change tables. Also the schedules changed week to week, sometimes I would have 12 hours, sometimes 40. There were some shifts that are on call for the whole shift or sometimes you had shifts that had 2 hours before the start of the shift were on call so you had to call and see if they wanted you to start at an earlier time. No work life balance. No benefits. I went through 3 interviews to get this terrible $12/hr job. I would never work here again, and would not recommend it at all. Horrible place. (My location at least)

Pros

Generous pay for management, paid holidays and maternity leave for full timers, good benefits. Treats us more like humans than any other business I’ve ever worked for

Cons

Work/life balance can be hard, especially around the holidays

Pros

Great brand to work for! Corporate leaders are great at motivating team down to associate level. (Not sure about Daniel yet though, I’m mostly referring to the tentured leadership team) There’s access to tools that offer clear communication (almost too much communication sometimes). Development is the core of this brand and managers are trained to foster internal talent when it’s identified. The product sold here is cherished by a huge fanbase as well- customers feed off of the excitement the associates have around the product.

Cons

Operationally demanding and challenging; don’t underestimate how much labor and planning goes into selling candles and lotion.
