Pros
I worked for Battelle for about 13 years and have built many lasting friendships. My hours were fairly flexible and the work was the most rewarding. Knowing that what you are doing is contributing to the greater good of mankind is a reward in itself. Battelle offers a pension even if you don't retire from there.
Cons
The benefits are not the best. There was no compensation for good work, although there was a 2-3% annual increase. I have found many other companies offering more competitive pay and better medical insurance. There is constant reorganization. At least once a year there are lay offs and sometimes a month later they will start bringing in new people. Everyone is fearful of losing their job.
