Pros
The scientific culture is very strong. Organization is very stable. Because it is a not for profit there is not the pressure from Wall Street to keep up the stock price or increase profits which can result in the cut throat culture found in some commercial organizations. Carl Kohrt has been a very strong leader. His replacement, Jeff Wadsworth shows great promise.
Cons
Is often slow and bureaucratic. There is strong resistance to new ideas and change. Could be more creative.
