I have worked at Battelle for almost a year, with the first ~9 months being as a contractor. My experience has been pretty positive overall. Pros Lots of flexiblity with when/how I get my work done. Hybrid schedule, choosing what days and how many I go into the office, as well as what hours I work each day Feel supported by my boss and others in my department I enjoy the work I am doing and feel that I have liberty to focus on the things that I think are most beneficial/helpful in my role Benefits offering seems pretty good- 9/80 schedule, decent accrual of PTO, lots of options for medical/dental/etc. insurance, 401k match Pay is best I have ever seen in my field
Cons
I am the only person in my role, so sometimes I feel isolated from others or like I am lower on the priorities Would like more flexibility with amount of hours worked each week- prefer ~30 intsead of 40 hours/week, so I have more time for outside obligations/activities (could potentially get this, but too nervous of any negative consequences that would occur for asking)
