Pros
No one stands over your shoulder and micromanages you. You are free and left to your own devices, as long as you get the work done. You can ask for help and expect to receive it. No one works in silos. People are always moving about.
Cons
If you come on as a contractor through a staffing agency the pay is slightly less than if you come in permanently. I don't necessarily see this as a con. Staffing agencies have to turn a profit off the employees they source and contracted employees want to be able to ask for/expect a pay increase when they transition into permanent employment .
