Pros
BayCare is a great organization overall. The mission to improve the health of the community is a strong part of the culture. There are good advancement opportunities for individuals with skillsets that allow them to move across the organization. Compensation is pretty competitive.
Cons
Leadership, particularly IS, is very political and unrealistic about what it takes to deliver results on initiatives. There is a lot of talk and very little walk. The end result is understaffed projects and inefficient workarounds. Leadership is stuck in the past and needs to look outside the healthcare industry for inspiration. They seem to be about 10 years behind other industries. There is nothing special about the benefits, especially healthcare coverage. There is no casual Friday or working from home.
