Pros

Lax dress code. Can wear jeans and TShirt to work in Products Development. Solid, modern tech stack. You have lots of freedom as a developer to use whatever tools you want.

Cons

* Product Development is shifting towards a very negative culture. People advancing in the org (lower level leads) are extremely opinionated and do not accept new ideas or feedback. They are very heavily biased towards their favorite teams and people and treat everyone outside their circle poorly * Culture among developers across-teams is cynical and negative. Developers and teams throw each other under the bus rather than lift them up * Teams are not willing to help each other and instead hide behind aforementioned leads in order to do the least amount of work possible * A culture of team work is no longer present. It's so cut-throat. Makes me sad after working there so long * Compensation lags far behind your skill/achievements and never catches up * Annual cash incentive process is black box and not dispersed according to skill/achievements

Pros

Better pay than other companies My team - full of hardworking and knowledgable individuals.

Cons

Leadership/Management - can be micromanaging at times and not a lot of guidance/resources being provided. Projects can change swiftly at Bayer, and most of the times there's no background context given. Work/life balance - asked to be "flexible" with schedule for last-minute requests, then criticized for having life/responsibilities outside of work. Also, these last minute requests reflect poor planning on management. Lack of team morale - seems like it's all work and not a lot of play. Burnout culture and not a lot of incentives to perform better.
