Pros

Very people focused. Lots of opportunities for growth. Leading the industry in life science innovation. Pay is good and above average but that is relative to your role. ( for example As a production engineer at a chemical plant I was relatively underpaid because other petrochemical companies can simply pay more than a life science company for doing the same job)

Cons

Bayer may have bit more than they could chew with the purchase of Monsanto. It is now a massive conglomerate trying to manage some assets that just don’t make sense for a company that is traditionally a pharmaceutical giant. I was employed at a 24/7 continuously operated chemical production facility. Operation of such is much different than operating a pharmaceutical plant. Operation decisions would come from upper management that just didn’t make sense for our type of facility.

Cons

The stock and cash flow has been wildly unstable for a few years. Bonuses have had wild swings.
