Good time being a tutor - Student-Tutor Baylor University Employee Review

Pros

Pay for being a tutor is pretty good, $10/hour. I work drop-in so if its not busy then I can do homework. Good as part time job, only 3 hours of drop-in tutoring a day, 4 days a week. Other tutors are very nice and good to work with, and while they work separately will come together to help other tutors with a problem if the first one cannot answer it him/herself.

Cons

Usually happens to be very busy and hectic when you have a homework due soon, or just a lot of it. When its hectic you can be attempting to tutor 4+ students at a time. Drop-in tutoring hours often overlap with classes so the time you can work is limited.

Not many cons. Like other higher education roles, you’re paid in benefits like vacation, health leave, etc.
