Pros
Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I have worked here over a year and I love it! --A lot of opportunities for quick advancement --You get a TON of training. --If you're having trouble, you can ask for additional support--which you WILL get! --Collateral pay! As an ABT I get 1 additional hour per 4 hours worked. so If I work 32 hours, I get 8 additional hours!! I typically work a 28-32 hour schedule, but I get paid for 34.5-40hrs!! Basically any additional stuff you need to do for the case is built in to collateral, though as an ABT you don't have a ton of additional work. --As long as you submit your mileage spreadsheet, you get a mileage check paid monthly! Depending on how many clients I have and where they are located I get between $130-210 back in a mileage check! --This region is amazing at hiring people who WANT to work here! --We occasionally have staff get togethers--the next one is a Paint Nite!! We also hold toy swaps. Kids can get sick of our toys, so this is great! --If I have a ton of cancellations, (It's fee for service) I can apply for retention time. I don't get collateral pay for this, but I can do a work project and still get paid my regular wage! I can make a PECS book, laminate or print stuff for a few hours and still get paid. --Plenty of sick time. It's accrued. I'm full-time so I accrue it faster than a part-time employee. --Can get reimbursed for toys for specific clients, up to $25 per client, but this must be approved. --They pay better than some companies in the area. The last company I worked at I started at $12.75, and ended at $13.50 after the 90 day period. I started at this company a year ago with an associate's degree and made $15.97!! I got $1.68 raise!! Once I complete my Bachelor's Degree I will get a $4-5/hr raise!! --The managers in my region are awesome!! They DO tell you what you do wrong, but they also constantly tell you what you're doing right. When they do have to tell you to correct something, they are HELPFUL rather than RUDE!! --They are very understanding about LIFE! It happens. People get sick. Cars break down. Unless you're constantly late or calling out, they are very understanding. --They don't pressure you to do make ups. If you're busy that week, no worries, there's time to get them done! --Cancellations are monitored. So if a family constantly cancels or no call no shows, they will get dropped. --If you're having trouble with a case, and management's advice is not working, it can be referred to a Regional Review Team or RRT. Basically, we ask the other professionals we work with for advice/something we haven't thought of. These discussions are extremely helpful!
Cons
--You are fee for service. If you don't work, you don't get paid unless you are sick/have sick time accrued. You can apply for retention time though--more often than not you get it, but it doesn't include your collateral. --There's no PTO--sick time, but no PTO. It's not interchangeable, --The mileage sheets can be a little cumbersome, but worth the extra payout. --You either LOVE this field/job or hate it. --Sometimes families cancel or no call no show. It sucks! Nothing worse than driving half an hour for a no call no show!
