Pros

Flexible schedule and PTO/sick time.

Cons

You do not get an actual break. Company is understaffed, in my interview I was told there would be room for growth, which is not true unless you join their Masters program. You do not get payed for any administrative work you do at home an ABT such as phone calls with supervisors, or driving to office for supplies, sending emails etc.

Beacon honors labor laws which require a 30-minute break without travel for staff who work six or more hours. We recognize and value the time that our team put into supporting Beacon children and families, as staff who participate in outside of session administrative work receive an elevated direct service hourly rate. For staff striving to earn a promotion from an Associate Behavior Therapist to a Behavior Therapist, a Master’s Degree is not required. We appreciate your feedback and invite you to reach out to us at support@beaconservices.org as we aim to ensure a positive experience for all our staff members.

Pros

Beacon took me in with no experience and taught me everything I know. I went through training from ABT to BT, CPR training through the company and even began the masters program to become a behavior analyst.

Cons

Employees don’t seem to last very long long

Pros

Age range is great. Little kiddos .

Cons

Cancelations: lets say you drove 30 minutes ,then a text appears seeing, canceled. The company wont pay you for the drive or lost session AND your responsible to set uo a makeup session. During holiday season, alot of cancelations happen, Therfore lost hours and pay. Dont believe it when they aay" we'll put you in other cases" . They'll try but it most likely wont be available. TRAINING: If your experienced, trust me your better off in another place. The training they advertised is 2 weeks of seeding/shadowing . But nope ,thats an estimate. Some people have shadowing times for months. At a training rate. Meaning you have to stay like a shadow at a session, go to random houses and sit there watching and occasionally practice for 2 hours. This can be exciting at first, but when it goes on for weeks and weeks , your pay will be low and your previous skills are very undervalued. Dont get excited about the pay : The pay rate lured me in, but considering the amount of time they needed to "find clients" for me , and teh amount of cancelations or no place for you to go, the rate is nothing .
