Pros

The clients and families are great to work for BCBA are good with helping you get hours

Cons

The main concern is pay and not the hourly rate ABT and BTs get but the fact you don’t get paid for cancellations, not even a non-billable rate. This reinforces some families to either show up an hour late or not be at the home at all or cancel constantly which leaves you with no time for makeup session. Families that do this don’t get reprimanded and our paychecks are the ones that suffer. BCBA are understanding but the higher ups of the company don’t care about you because they make their salary while we struggle to pay bills because of hours. If you go to the doctor and cancel last minute you still have to pay for the appointment why is it different for us as employees.turn over rate is high for this one reason they could simply fix

We are concerned to read your comments. We understand that reliability of income is an important consideration when evaluating employment options. Cancellations are an unfortunate challenge that all ABA agencies experience, and Beacon works alongside families to minimize unexpected cancellations and reschedule when necessary. We also have a cancellation policy in place to respond to family and staff needs for consistency in hours. We have a culture of continuous improvement and your detailed feedback matters to us. We invite you to contact us at support@beaconservices.org so we can talk with you directly about your concerns.

Pros

Beacon took me in with no experience and taught me everything I know. I went through training from ABT to BT, CPR training through the company and even began the masters program to become a behavior analyst.

Cons

Employees don’t seem to last very long long

Pros

Age range is great. Little kiddos .

Cons

Cancelations: lets say you drove 30 minutes ,then a text appears seeing, canceled. The company wont pay you for the drive or lost session AND your responsible to set uo a makeup session. During holiday season, alot of cancelations happen, Therfore lost hours and pay. Dont believe it when they aay" we'll put you in other cases" . They'll try but it most likely wont be available. TRAINING: If your experienced, trust me your better off in another place. The training they advertised is 2 weeks of seeding/shadowing . But nope ,thats an estimate. Some people have shadowing times for months. At a training rate. Meaning you have to stay like a shadow at a session, go to random houses and sit there watching and occasionally practice for 2 hours. This can be exciting at first, but when it goes on for weeks and weeks , your pay will be low and your previous skills are very undervalued. Dont get excited about the pay : The pay rate lured me in, but considering the amount of time they needed to "find clients" for me , and teh amount of cancelations or no place for you to go, the rate is nothing .
