Pros

The only pro I can think of is that they bought me pizza once

Cons

- I was told I was getting into a remote job after only a couple weeks of training in person. That was a lie, I was then told multiple different dates for when I might be remote so I had to do an hour or more commute twice a day. Very unorganized and bad communication with me to not get that cleared up. - They had a meeting with me and reprimanded me for asking when I would be remote saying that asking about it was "inappropriate". - They shamed me for taking PTO on two separate times. Once when I was sick and then again when I could not get to work due to a storm. They were not understanding at all on both occasions when I even came in to the office a few days when I was sick and also made a good effort to drive through the storm and get to work the day of the storm. I felt like this was very unfair to me seeing as both occasions were out of my control. - During my last full week showed another example of their severe lack of communication when they waited until a Friday morning to tell me that it was required for me to work over the weekend and then come in early the next Monday. This was frustrating enough, but it got worse when they told me that over the weekend I had to log onto my computer and work remote... I thought this was just down right disrespectful to me after they had put me down for asking when I could be remote and telling me that it wouldn't be for a while. It was only when it was convenient for them that I was allowed to work remotely? That did not sit right with me. - Lastly, After working over the weekend and coming in early on Monday, they told me that they were letting me go using the events of me asking when I would be remote and when I used my PTO for sickness and the storm as their reasoning. - Now, they are trying to claim that I used more PTO than I was given (which is wrong, I checked and confirmed that I used just the amount that I was given) and that I owe them money for this lie that management has made up. In turn, they are trying to not pay me for completely valid hours that I worked and saying that I even owe them more money and that they are doing me a favor by letting the rest go. Overall, It felt like from day one that they had some sort of a bone to pick with me for whatever reason and were making up ridiculous reasons to be annoyed with me. Given, I was new to the business/corporate world being a recent college grad, I had some things to learn and still do about things that are appropriate or not to do in an office environment. However, I did nothing that I thought would be putting my job in question. Although it was not my ideal position to have I still felt like I was doing what I was hired for, especially after jumping hurdles that they put in front of me. I felt very blind-sided and disrespected by a lot of Beacon Hill's behavior from management. I took this position hoping to gain some entry level experience and unfortunately gained experience for what might be a red flag in a job, company or manager.

We are sorry that your experience at BHSG was negative. We understand that this role was never intended to be fully remote and that that was explained to you on several occasions. The role also requires occasional weekend and or early morning starts, particularly during holiday periods. Our PTO is accrued, not allotted, and per the handbook that you signed, any excess PTO taken above what is earned is deducted from final wages. However, in a good faith effort, we will not apply our standard practice to you and we have confirmed with HR that you will be paid for all hours worked.
