Pros

Working at Benchmark means a real experience of doing something with purpose in a multicultural world ––it is a hard and rough workplace, but also extremely enriching and caring about its own people. The key in this company is getting to understand what is your own place in the Educational business, and being sensitive about the other's needs and skills, specially teachers, parents and students. If you realized that a classroom is never an homogeneous place, and that the US is a country made by immigrants and working-class people, a job in Benchmark will be a great work experience to you.

Cons

Benchmark is growing very fast, mainly because their success in multicultural markets in the US and abroad. So, sometimes they have trouble in finding enough multicultural workers to keep the pace. Be ready to multitask and to live in translation, and to speak up. Somehow, somewhen, everybody will listen.

Pros

I became incensed when I came across the reviews on Glassdoor and wanted to contribute my own review. I suppose things have changed here at Benchmark because I have a completely different view of this organization. I work fully remote from home. The culture is collaborative. People are NICE and very professional!! The 401k benefits match at 25% of my contributions (not 3 or 4% like most companies) AND they have a profit sharing bonus. It's a very inclusive and diverse company. Thank you, Benchmark. I'm going to reach out to other employees and see if we can 'up' these numbers with positive reviews!

Cons

I wish I could visit the main headquarters and meet my peers in-person someday.

Pros

May be manageable if you are 100% remote.

Cons

If you have to be in the New Rochelle office, it is truly a strange place with bizarre, abusive management. The negative reviews are accurate. You will hear yelling, shouting, cursing, and insults thrown around casually. It’s usually directed at individuals. This comes from the very top CEO - the bad vibes trickle down through middle management and onto workers. Turnover is extremely high, lots of layoffs and outsourcing. Occasional free lunch doesn’t make up for the horrible culture. Systems are convoluted and there’s no real training process or HR, so a lot of times one hand doesn’t know what the other is doing.
