Pros

There are so many intelligent, dedicated and innovative people working at this company, who truly care about education. Many of them work tirelessly. That's about the only positive that can be said about this company

Cons

The owners have created a terrible culture. The expectation is to dedicate yourself to the job but without the compensation and recognition of your efforts. It is common to be yelled at and belittled and there is no recourse with HR at all. It's a private company, and you will be treated as if they own you. There is almost no allowance for personal issues, whether family or illness, the expectation is the work is getting done, no matter what. The technology is horrible, programs that don't work, no support when there's a problem, never sure if the data is right and no way to validate.

Pros

I became incensed when I came across the reviews on Glassdoor and wanted to contribute my own review. I suppose things have changed here at Benchmark because I have a completely different view of this organization. I work fully remote from home. The culture is collaborative. People are NICE and very professional!! The 401k benefits match at 25% of my contributions (not 3 or 4% like most companies) AND they have a profit sharing bonus. It's a very inclusive and diverse company. Thank you, Benchmark. I'm going to reach out to other employees and see if we can 'up' these numbers with positive reviews!

Cons

I wish I could visit the main headquarters and meet my peers in-person someday.

Pros

May be manageable if you are 100% remote.

Cons

If you have to be in the New Rochelle office, it is truly a strange place with bizarre, abusive management. The negative reviews are accurate. You will hear yelling, shouting, cursing, and insults thrown around casually. It’s usually directed at individuals. This comes from the very top CEO - the bad vibes trickle down through middle management and onto workers. Turnover is extremely high, lots of layoffs and outsourcing. Occasional free lunch doesn’t make up for the horrible culture. Systems are convoluted and there’s no real training process or HR, so a lot of times one hand doesn’t know what the other is doing.
