Cons
Senior management is out of touch. After a period of 2 years without a president, and then with one with no college or university experience at all, the VPs have made power struggles a part of daily life. "Layoffs" of longtime employees and replacing them with lower paid, younger ones shows how the place skipped from transitioning from a College to a University and went from College to Corporation instead. Nothing against the new people, but they just don't have the experience of the ones they replaced. Sadly, the college made major changes in it character and focus on undergraduates to meet the standards required to be termed a "university" only to have those standards change. They could have saved millions, improved the undergraduate program instead of letting it slide downhill, and maintained staff morale at a high level while still gaining that title if the leadership was in tune with the direction higher education policy in the commonwealth was heading. Ask anyone who has been there less than 5 years how many social events that were not required or during work-time they have attended if interviewing there.
