Pros
Nice colleagues, good benefits, summer flex schedule, free parking for employees
Cons
Poor leadership at high levels. Lack of transparency in administration and organization. Very little community among employees, especially newer ones—expect to be treated as an outsider by people who have been there a long time if you're new. Unexpected "restructuring" seems to result in random layoffs unlike anything I've seen at other colleges where I've worked. Salaries are lower than at other schools, and there is little chance to advance in most departments, even after the recent compensation review. Many of the stuents are nice, but quite a few are entitled brats who will try to make your job difficult because they don't think that working for a college is a real job. Campus is pretty but is in a remote location far away from downtown Waltham, public transportation, and lunch spots. Employees are clearly an afterthought—it's all about recruiting and retaining international students who will pay full freight these days. If you're not a revenue stream, don't expect to be kept around very long.
