Pros
I work in the administration. Low stress environment with great benefits. Good morale in office thanks to low stress environment and reasonable deadlines for reports and finished projects. School has narrow, specific focus. This is a good thing for the organization. Working in administration, I feel like I'm furthering the goals of the university and serving its students. Campus is pretty. Gym and library are great amenities for staff and a chance to interface with community members, including students and faculty. Tuition remission is an A+!
Cons
While the pay is right for me and my circumstances, it may not attract or keep best talent forever. Parking can be tough. It's on a hill. Some bureaucracy, which can be expected. Some employees in administration can be petty and not play well with certain departments due to years-old conflicts. That's confusing to me. See above about bureaucracy.
