New culture; attempting to rebound; new realities of industry and economy; loss of many good leaders. - Director Best Buy Employee Review

Pros

We have a history of overcoming adversity. New management is intelligent and has calmed Wall Street. However, our plan is still not cohesive or necessarily "strong". It also seems to be highly dependent upon our primary, large competitors not creating a similar plan with greater efficiencies and cost-effectiveness - In other words, there is a better than average chance that they will do it better than we will.

Cons

Once a deep, energized, positive culture is now a feeling of simply "having a job"; many people spend time worrying about the stability of the company and/or their jobs. They also spend time brushing up on their LinkedIn profiles and job-board sites (like I am doing as I type this). There is far too much work (staying competitive has created "new"/additional work), but we have fewer people at corporate and in our store roles to accomplish that work with excellence. Often, it's not accomplished at all.

Pros

Learn a lot on the job. Great place to entry level in tech. Geek squad has a lot of independence from the store when I was there.

Cons

Proper scheduling. If people call out they do not try to fill role they simply expect you to do more. Rotating schedule, Your on and off days will change week to week.

Pros

No Need to sell or deal with customers (Much) Constantly moving so you always have a task to do Management leaves you to your own devices Almost all warehouse employees have a set of headphone

Cons

Everyone (Cust & employees) Expect an encyclopedic knowledge on where every single item is. Management seems to think we can lift a 85" tv, pull a washer off the top shelf, stock gaming shelves, and handle store pick up at the same moment. Customers think we don't want to help them when we call someone else to help with sales There's almost too much to do and even though we may have 1-3 employees working at a time, 1 is at the door, 1 is behind store pick up, which leaves 1 employee to handle new orders, deliveries, and down stocking.
