Pros
I’ll start with the context that I had worked at Beyond in the past, and as part of the great resignation, quit my role during COVID. Months after quitting, I began missing aspects of this role that felt rare to find in work or other roles. As a result, I eventually came back to the team. Some reasons why / Pros: - Results-oriented culture where quality work & high performance doesn't get unnoticed - You’re given autonomy to drive projects from beginning to end, making decisions based on what makes practical & logical sense (as opposed to how things have always been or office politics) - Individuals are trusted & encouraged to proactively move forward with ideas and make decisions that are objectively helpful for the business - Companies claim “ruthless prioritization”, but Beyond actually does this. Projects are usually prioritized by measurable or quantifiable business value. As a result, I’ve never felt like I was doing “busy” work or work that is not impactful - You're encouraged to intentionally question existing processes so that identified problems can be thoughtfully prioritized & solved - Less focus on how you work (lack of micromanagement), much more focus on the results & quality you produce - I personally find the work stimulating and think there is a good balance of being analytical and creative when working towards solutions.
Cons
This is not an easy role, and everyone will not thrive in it. You’ll be asked to consistently be thoughtful & proactive. However, this is a place that rewards results & is quick to recognize good performers.
