Pros

Could be some good benefits after 3 months probationary period. Hour long lunch and breaks.

Cons

The staff is not welcoming to new hires. So like High School.. They have their cliques and few are friendly to the new person. Unkind and rude when a new employee is training. Treated me like I was stupid when I made mistakes while training. To the point I hated going to work and was always nervous. Felt I was in trouble every time I made a mistake in training. Part time, not enough money, no way to advance because Bi-mart only hires a certain number of full time employees. Schedule was always weird. You get your schedule every two weeks which makes it hard to make doctor appts or any other kind of appointments. I was always having to cancel appointments I made in advance because I would get scheduled to work. Is the stress worth it? Is the unkindness of the staff toward the new person worth it? Is the pressure to know everything 4 weeks after you start a new job worth it? Nope.

Pros

Discount is great, cost+10% is really good especially on seasonal items that have a higher mark up.

Cons

The company is gutting their sales floors of labor and management and crew are facing the consequences, 21% down in stock valuation this year is insane. Customer service is first so if you tell a customer "no" or ask them to leave, you have to write a report about WHY you had to tell a customer no or to leave after they screamed in your face for 15 minutes about looking at video you can't release because they want to fire you for daring to ask a customer to leave the building. Unfortunately, this company is likely to go under in a couple years time. Last year it was 10% down, they reduced christmas bonuses and gave 30 cent raises, closed Cascade Farm & Outdoor and unannounced, they closed a Bi-Mart in Vancouver without any notice. Now it's 21% down, how many more people are losing their jobs before they fold entirely?
