Pros
The work life balance is fantastic, the peer support is constantly increasing my software development and computer science skill set, the projects and clients available to work with are excellent. The company is <100 but growing which is a great place to be. Benefits are very competitive. An underrated aspect that makes work very enjoyable is the low bureaucratic overhead
Cons
I can’t complain. Big Nerd Ranch is magnificent, The employees help you grow, the job improves career skills. The best con I can come up with: a job here, moreso than other employers, is what you make it. If you arent interested in learning, writing stable, fantastic code, or contributing to the community among other goals, the company won’t carry you. so if you’re looking to be carried, it”s a con.
