Pros
Co-workers, genuine CEO, many long-time employees with impressive knowledge and fun personalities.
Cons
Some of the branch managers/assistant BM's have no idea how to perform the job they manage. Seemed as if they were hired because they knew someone, not because they were qualified. I'll admit, I was going through a rough time in life during my employment there and regretfully I was not a good employee because of it. However, I floated between 3 branches which were all a very different atmosphere. The job position was not well established. As a new employee with an impressive background of credit union experience, I felt stupidly underestimated having to witness a clueless manager epically fail at solving a basic system error. Adapting to a new branch atmosphere every week should have been a cake walk for me. Sadly, the gossipy unwelcoming and unappreciative employee cliques made it a nightmare. Only one branch I looked forward to going to, which resulted in excessive tardiness and call-ins at the branches I was miserable at. I take full responsibility for my poor work ethic during my employment at Spire and I'm embarrassed that I couldn't do better at the time. However, I didn't realize how unbelievably miserable that job was until I was fired from it. Devastation of losing my job quickly turned into a sigh of relief. Bummer I didn't have a better experience but maybe it just wasn't for me.
