Pros

I have worked at Blockchains for almost a year and for those of you considering working here, I highly recommend it. I have read the posts below and while some of the comments are true, they lack context. Blockchains is a startup, and one with a giant and life-changing vision. Since I have been here, there have been several separations from employees, but the truth is that the company hired too quickly before understanding its needs. The company had a lot of roles that unfortunately were not needed and certain employees were not fulfilled or busy. While this is no fault of the employees, startups change, they go through several iterations of reorganization. It isn't fun, but it is necessary for this business-need. So for those of you thinking about applying, but see these reviews, this place is great and is getting more focused and organized. There are so many moving parts, that there is a great opportunity to learn new things and get involved in projects that a big company wouldn't allow.

Cons

The constant changing is difficult and can be frustrating. It would be helpful if work from home were an option.

Pros

100% remote work and very talented teams to work with.

Cons

Every negative review here is accurate, ignore the sole 5-star one for obvious reasons. This company is run by a CEO/Founder and his inner circle of friends/ex-coworkers, none of whom seem to know how to manage or grow a business effectively. Despite being around for 8+ years, they've made no progress in deploying any product. The company has had so many great product ideas and an ambitious vision, only for the CEO to abruptly scrap everything, lay off entire departments, and decide to start over from scratch. Layoffs are an annual tradition here, each year another department, and in the last round the entire company, or just about, is gone. It’s a pattern that seems sustainable only because the CEO is personally wealthy. Adding to the dysfunction, the company's NDAs and non-compete clauses are laughable. They attempt to enforce non-competes, which are illegal in many states (and even punishable in some). It’s absurd considering there's no actual product to compete against. Even worse, they forbid employees from mentioning they were laid off—another violation of legal standards. Save yourself the headache and steer clear of this company. There are far better opportunities out there. No 401k matching No health insurance coverage for the first 3 months 10 days PTO (including sick time, bereavement, or jury duty) Minimum holidays paid No compensation for internet or career classes The benefits list is so short that they had to add "casual dress" as a benefit even though everyone was remote!
