Pros
The BlueWater company culture is second to none. We work hard, and we play hard. There is little, if any, micromanagement here. Employees are trusted to their jobs, and supervisors are always available and willing to support their employees. Our open door policy is actually an open door. I have worked for companies where venturing to speak directly with any member of senior management is like slipping on a pair of ruby red pumps, and trotting down the yellow brick road to see the Wizard. That type of formal tension doesn't exist here. Communication is easy and invited. BlueWater invests in the capability set of each and every employee. I have attended many career-focused classes, courses, and seminars at $0 out of pocket. When I came to BlueWater, I was leaving one of the worst jobs I had ever taken. I walked through the door on my first day with great uncertainty in my ability to add value to this company. I am not that person anymore. If I didn't know something, I was taught. If I forgot something, I was reminded. If I messed anything up, I was corrected, and given the opportunity to fix my own work. This company facilitates growth at the career level, and also the personal level.
Cons
When the workload is heavy, it is really heavy. At times, a good work/life balance is hard to maintain. It doesn't come down to this too often, but it can happen.
