Pros
-I had 17 fourth grade students that I worked with in small group. The absolute best part of this job was getting to know them all so well. Having them in small group AND seeing them everyday made them feel that I was an adult that they could really count on. -We track their math progress throughout the year and it is incredible seeing their growth and knowing you've made an immense impact. -I had students saying that they hated math before math fellows and now they say math is their favorite subject :) -I knew when I was graduating college that I wanted to get into the education field, but I didn't want to jump into a graduate program immediately. This was a great way to work in a school and get the feel for what it's like working with kids full time -I had an amazing coordinator who made me feel like a valued member of the program!
Cons
-Like others have said the pay isn't ideal. However just out of college this was the most I had ever made so I didn't feel resentful. I was able to live in Denver and support myself financially but if you're looking to save each month then this job might not be right for you. -You are expected to do a lot, but I found that to be good preparation for being a classroom teacher. I was never overwhelmed by the workload
