Pros

The 401(k) match is nice (10%). Generally, the people I have worked with have been helpful and kind. Stable career, as Boeing is essentially a true example of "Too Big to Fail".

Cons

Pay is subpar and you will not keep with the market unless you job hop. My friends who got promoted to my level after me were instantly making 10% more, and management does not care. Boeing is also full of older employees and incompetent (out of touch) leadership that is completely resistant to change. They do not care about their employees. People bring up concerns, and when nothing changes, management is shocked when our attrition rate is 40%. Yes, forty. They treat younger employees like they are under qualified and then need help connecting to WiFi ten minutes later. I'm counting down the days so I won't have to pay back my relocation (46). If you want a company with people trapped in the 80's, gladly work for this second place aerospace manufacturer. Second place in a duopoly.

Pros

Fantastic benefits and work-life balance. 401k match is unmatched!

Cons

Easy to get pigeon-holed into a role. Try exploring ways to stay pro-active and do different things

Pros

Easy going, nice benefits, free further education (masters/PhD). Great for an engineer starting out who needs to dip their feet in the pool of engineering for a few years and to get a great 401(k) match at the start of your career (compounding growth). Great for late stage career due to the benefits and solid enough pay in a low cost of living area

Cons

pay-scale lagging, no emphasis on learning new things, no punishment for people who are bad at their job. After working for 4 years, I feel like I should have jumped ship after 2. I haven't been given meaningful work that really challenges me in a while. Now I feel pigeonholed into staying because I have enough years of experience that I really should be considered senior, but I haven't been given work that reflects what I senior engineer should be capable of. Now I'm trying to jump ship before it's really too late. If I stay here another 2 years I think I will be genuinely unemployable and will have to stay at this company forever.
