Pros

The company is so large you can experience multiple careers and companies under the same roof Good fringe benefits Depending on the job flexibility in hours Great people to be in the trenches with

Cons

Bad culture created top down by managers who know they’ll never be held accountable Any management that is good have their hands tied with all the bureaucracy and cut throat yes men they have to compete with for resources HR & ethics do not stand up for employees and whistle blowers, they protect management and the company above all else The company used to do annual surveys where employees would highlight these issues, management would then direct people to workshop them. Management would never do anything with the provided findings and the same results would show up next year. Eventually they stopped doing the surveys all together. They wasted lots of money hiring consultant groups that reported the same cultural issues and findings employees had raised for years. Loyalty and time at the company is rarely valued. Leaving the company and coming back or bouncing around a lot and not actually accomplishing much is rewarded with better pay and advancement. Many pockets the company are hamstrung in outdated technologies and poorly designed in-house tools or softwares The rigidity of policies and pros make innovation slow and serve as excuses for management to not pay competitive wages or give meaningful raises to even keep up with inflation Lots of rotating management had over 15 managers in 11 years. Steer clear of FINDABI leadership. Their insecurities/imposter syndromes set that whole department back years in productivity as they conspired to discriminate and fire multiple well qualified employees with strong formal educations and hands on experience simply because they presented a threat to exposing their poor understanding of technologies and strategic values.

Pros

Excellent work-life balance compared to many aerospace companies. Good benefits (healthcare, retirement, PTO).

Cons

- Five days per week in the office - Parking can be challenging. - Working across multiple time zones (U.S., Brazil, India) creates coordination overhead - Compensation is not competitive for the Seattle area. - Limited opportunities for meaningful career growth. While there are internal career paths, I haven't found many opportunities that align with the technical challenges and responsibilities I'm looking for - SPEEA's seniority-based structure can slow advancement for newer employees - Programs have very long development cycles, so it can take years to see your work become a finished product - Less exposure to cutting-edge technology than companies focused on emerging products (space, medical devices, AI hardware, quantum computing, etc. Significant bureaucracy and slow decision-making
