Pros
The teams are mostly well run. Good career pathways. Good Management.
Cons
HR is terrible. There is no way to contact them and get straight forward answers. You also don't know half of the benefits and how they impact you until you need to use the benefit. - During short term disability they drain your PTO 100% without any ability to reserve time. PTO is frontloaded so severe illness in January could mean 11 months of 0 PTO. Same situation if you want to take a full 12 months of maternity leave. The STD HR staff does not care about you and they do not reach out/contact you at all. In fact, I was told "Huh, surprised you come back. That doesn't happen often." - Impossible to get a hold of a real HR individual. You open a ticket and no one responds or knows how to answer. - No responses or reasons for why candidate referrals are ignored. Have placed referrals and 1 person did not hear back for months. Another time I placed a referral and the person got hired but I did not receive any referral bonus even when it was promised. - People of the LGBTQ community are discriminated against. Every single year we have to prove with multiple forms of documents that we are still married. However, straight married couples do not require multiple documents, only 1. - 2 years ago people at BSMH were able to ask HR questions in forums. This this has been removed completely and, when you try to message the HR email you receive a notice that you are not permitted to email them. You have to open a ticket which usually just gets closed with no resolution or phone call. It's just impossible to have good relationship with HR at BSMH. They don't care and don't bother to make themselves available and transparent.
