Pros
Booking is truly a great company to work with: people are (in most cases) friendly, supportive, inclusive and open to discuss. The company provides tons of resources for personal and team improvement and truly focuses on the well-being of the employees and "doing the right thing" to protect and support the employee. The leadership is usually visible and approachable and there are clear efforts being made to improve some of the flaws mentioned by the employees (through surveys, reviews, clear actions etc...).
Cons
- The company grew enormously throughout the years and - in some ways - tends to still think like a lean start-up, while being a large corporation at this point. This causes some difficulty in understanding the direction and goals that each team has. - Silo-mentality: there are often unrelated teams that work on the same improvements, without alignment or communication (often parallel improvement initiative are set up, but are not visible, so there is quite a lot of duplication of effort/waste). - Certain departments don't have any in house Product resources (read: IT and Engineering support), despite being asked to improve global processes, and it is very difficult to get the right support from Product people. - There is not (yet) a strong culture of project management and projects are often delayed for long time or killed after years of work, because of a change in strategy or priorities.
