Pros

can sometimes talk about pop culture stuff at work, more flexible scheduling than other jobs, lgbtq+ tolerant

Cons

very low pay, phony front of being a “philanthropist” brick and mortar store when they don’t even pay associates or any position below GM anywhere near the median hourly wage for most retailers, expensive merchandise that is hard to sell, continued pressure and operation changes from corporate without adequate, realistic support for the store team, out of touch upper management & corporate, unrealistic sales expectations for teams with absolutely no benefits other than not getting chastised in a district email, embarrassing bonuses for management that are not even worth the efforts taken to get it, associates & lower management receive hardly any working hours but expect an open availability. nearly everyone who isn’t a GM has to work two jobs to even afford driving there and clocking in. toxic work environment with egos abound.

Pros

Cool customers. Great place to meet new people. Fun work staff. Good discount.

Cons

Unnecessary paperwork that takes up working time (it's honestly turned into a humiliation ritual atp if yk yk). Management with obvious favorites. Resellers can be horrible people and will try to make you the bad guy for doing your job (not all resellers ofc but a good chunk regardless). Crazy unrealistic expectations sometimes. Not everyone wants to sign up for loyalty for many reasons regardless of how many times you ask and try and yet if you miss a few you're the one in trouble.
