Pros
If you are a server, the tips are really good. The money put me through college (I still have debt but SO much less of it). Though you can find this in any fine dining setting.
Cons
The company does not value its employees. As soon as Boyd took over they slashed company benefits. No more free meals, ice cream machine or bonuses. Everything that made the casino tolerable was slashed. They opened as soon as they could following COVID, despite knowing their customer demographic is majority elderly and immunocompromised and ADDICTED to gambling - they knew they were killing people by opening so soon, and they did it with no remorse. They are the clearest example of profit over all else. It sickens me that I worked for them for so long. Some staff were racist as well, refusing to take tables of black people because they thought they would not get tipped. They would express these feelings overtly and management would let it swing. There are several occasions I recall where staff were verbally harassed by high value casino guests - and management would refuse to defend them because they give so much money to the casino. One instance involved the verbal sexual harassment of a minor. Another time, management refused to kick out a table once after overtly harassing wait staff because of the color of their skin. I know this sounds hateful and bitter - it is. But none of what I wrote is out of context. I lost a lot of faith in humanity in my time with this company. I know the money might draw people in - but it is not worth your mental well-being. If I were the CEO of this company, I would not be able to sleep at night. SIDE TEA!!!: They ALSO got in trouble a few years back for management denying a catering event because the party would be a majority black people and telling staff not to book parties like that - they managed to sweep this under the rug effectively.
