Pros

I worked as an RBT at UTBS in Brigham City for 2 years, and loved it there. I gained so much experience, which ended up being the base and inspiration for my current job as a social worker. I love that they provided comprehensive mental health care. Many ABA agencies are imbalanced, but they had mental health therapists on site. The knowledge I gained there is invaluable. I felt very supported by my coworkers and bosses.

Cons

Recently they have come under fire for having employees sign a 1 year long non compete clause. I understand their reasoning, but disagree with this limitation. More importantly, when I was there I ran into many logistical issues. Many days I would be driving clients in my personal vehicle (huge liability) and was compensated with an extra 50 cents hourly, which is insulting when the industry standard is 50cents per mile driven, and at this company I frequently drove 100 miles in a day. I put thousands of miles on my vehicle and did not receive adequate compensation. Communication errors sometimes resulted in me driving 40 minutes to a session only to find out it was canceled. I did not receive compensation for this even if it was an error on the companies end. They also attempted to withhold my paycheck for failing to submit my timesheet on time, which I was only given because I pointed out that witholding a paycheck is not legal. I knew many employees were discontent because when they moved up in the company the increase in pay was not proportional to the increase in responsibilities.

Pros

I like the benefits and people, they do alot for culture. Has a lower turnover rate than other ABA companies. They invest heavily in leadership development.

Cons

Can be rough if you dont ask questions or ask for support. Seems like alot of people quit, but their turnover is like 40% less than the industry average.

Pros

There are a lot of protocols in place that help behavior interns and early career BCBAs in learning skills that will make them better clinicians. They give good feedback and provide opportunities for growth (with some parameters). Depending on the location, the directors can be really supportive and will do their best!

Cons

There is not much support, at all, for people who are further in their career or are experiencing life changes. For being a company lead by a woman and where the majority of company leadership is women, they do not do much to support women or the families of their staff. They also demonstrate extreme favoritism towards anyone who works their way up in the company. If you come in as a BCBA without having worked their as a RBT or intern, you likely aren't going to get the same opportunities.
