Pros

I can only think of one, the view when you first walk into the office.

Cons

It's amazing this company is still in business. While their office is in San Fransisco's financial district and they pay for useless billboards all across the Bay Area, they refuse to pay their employees a decent salary. What they pay employees would be below average anywhere, but in San Francisco it's amazing they talk anyone into working there. Don't let them tell you that you'll gain valuable work experience because you can gain much more experience at almost any other start up in the Bay Area. And don't let them tell you after working hard you'll move up and receive raises, because if you even get a raise it won't be much and you'll still be making well below the average for your line of work. Any stock options are also probably useless because this company is barely holding on. If MasterCard ever finds a replacement, Brighterion will fold in a few days. As time goes on and this company remains run with horrible management and low paid employees, their technology will become outdated and MasterCard will no longer need them. Employees that have been using the 401K benefit for the past couple of years have seen money deducted from their paychecks, but the money has never made it into their 401K accounts. We were told by the CEO it takes a few months to make it into the account. Over a year later and still nothing for anyone I've spoken to that has since left the company and also those that are still there. As you would expect, the turn over rate at this company is very high. Those that stay, are people that have never worked anywhere else after college. They stay because they don't realize how bad this company is from the top down compared to every other company in the Bay Area. I know for a fact that the following from another review is true: "It is a well known fact that all positive reviews on Glass Door for Brighterion are written by the CEO and posted by employees on his orders."

Pros

I had the privilege of working with incredibly smart people and I will be forever grateful to the founder for giving me my first job out of college during the financial crisis. Working at Brighterion allowed me to become a succesful software engineer.

Cons

None. I will let that to the people who spend their limited energy with cynisme and criticism.

Pros

I can honestly say that life at Brighterion just keeps getting better. While the work is challenging, I am grateful that I work in an environment that makes me want to push myself. Given the nature of our business, our clients expect and deserve only the best. Those who can't work at the highest level usually don't last but fortunately Brighterion hires well so you are surrounded by co-workers who challenge each other. While our work is largely under the radar (NDAs prevent us from publicly discussing clients), we work with hundreds of institutions worldwide ranging from homeland security projects to financial fraud for the world's largest banks, e-commerce, and credit card companies. This exposure allows me to apply my skillset across multiple channels. I don't think I could have gotten the experience I am getting at Brighterion had I chosen to join any of the other, much larger, Bay Area tech companies - and they provide all the same bennies - lunches, awesome healthcare, 401K and health club membership at the Embarcadero YMCA just across the street. Brighterion is at the cutting edge of artificial intelligence and machine learning and I am proud to be right there at the front lines with such an innovative and cutting edge company.

Cons

Be prepared to bring your "A" game. In all honesty, I can't think of any right now but I'll circle back later with an update if I can think of any.
