Pros

I feel lucky to have landed at this mission-driven company. The founders vision is strong and many years ago they started this company to help improve the lives of more people. They brought people on board who share this vision and work hard knowing that what they do is helping others live their best life. This is still the focus and how they drive their growth and you can feel it immediately on day 1. They deliver on their promise to make sure this is a healthy, safe and positive work environment that helps team members thrive just like their mission to help every person live a richer life. I have felt this since day 1 and am so happy to be on this team.

Cons

If I could offer them one piece of feedback it would be to hear more from the co-founders to help support and drive that vision within new hires and remind the more senior people why they do what they do. Connecting to a strong Why is important to feel like you're giving value and have purpose for your work.

Pros

I’ve been at Brighton Jones for almost ten years and I can honestly say I don't see myself working anywhere else. Working here is not 'easy' but I'm not looking for easy. I'm looking for a place where I can get behind the mission, work with genuinely amazing people, make a contribution, and of course have opportunities to build my own nest egg through ownership in the company (which is a path that's available to everyone, not just a select few). Our mission to help clients, teammates, and global community live richer lives shows up every day. It shapes how people make decisions, how we work with clients, and how we think about our roles. You’re part of a team that wants to get better, not just individually, but together. That's why you'll see us use the term #OneTeam a lot. We believe that we're much better off rowing in the same direction than being a bunch of individuals in it for ourselves. A big part of that for me is the MESI. It gives us a shared language for how we show up, how we communicate, give feedback, and handle the moments that are usually the hardest in any workplace. It’s not a perfect program, and people are all at different points in how they practice it, but it’s embedded in a way that makes a genuine difference. The same goes for our focus on Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and our B Corp status. I truly believe that everyone here wants to create a place where people love to work, feel that they belong, and where they have opportunities to grow and thrive in a way that's unique to their own values and needs.

Cons

You probably won’t thrive here if you’re looking for a '9 to 5 job' where you clock in and out and that's it. There’s a real expectation to take ownership, invite feedback, and actively grow, not just professionally, but personally as well. The firm is evolving quickly, so things aren’t always fully defined and constantly changing. A big part of our ethos is that as long as we're getting a little bit better every day, we're winning. For me, that’s part of what makes working here exciting, but I'll admit it can sometimes feel overwhelming and a lot, I’ve also seen how it can be frustrating for people who want more structure or predictability, which I respect. Brighton Jones is not for everyone and that's how it should be in my opinion.

Pros

I genuinely love working at Brighton Jones because of the people and the culture we’ve built together. The firm is filled with thoughtful, kind, and deeply committed teammates who truly care about one another and show up as #OneTeam every day. There’s a strong sense of trust and psychological safety here - people are encouraged to be themselves, ask questions, and support each other through both challenges and growth. What sets Brighton Jones apart for me is how intentionally we invest in our people. Through MESI (Mindful, Emotional, and Social Intelligence), we don’t just talk about values, we actively practice them. MESI provides shared language and tools that strengthen self-awareness, empathy, and connection, which shows up in how we collaborate, lead, and care for one another. It creates an environment where continuous growth feels supported rather than pressured. I’ve also appreciated the real opportunities for development here - professionally and personally. Whether through leadership support, learning opportunities, or meaningful conversations around inclusion and belonging, Brighton Jones consistently encourages us to grow with purpose. It’s a place where people are trusted, challenged, and supported to do their best work while living richer lives themselves.

Cons

As with many founder‑built companies, some of the approaches that helped Brighton Jones grow quickly can create friction as we scale. Continued success will require greater consistency and standardization across processes so teams can operate more efficiently and sustainably. That kind of change takes intention, alignment, and grit; it doesn’t always come easily. Still, the effort is worth it, as clearer processes ultimately free people up to do their best work and support long‑term growth
