Management at the head of department levels is a serious problem. There’s a weird culture of micromanagement and passing the buck at the same time. I would consistently find myself forced to complete tasks in a sub-optimal way by upper management, only to be questioned why we weren’t getting results. It’s like entire conversations were blacked out of their memory in order for them to attempt to avoid responsibility for broken and out of date processes.
The tools and systems are incredibly out of date. The new tools they do bring in they don’t provide great training on citing lack of time due to tempo.
