Pros

The people! My co-workers have become my best friends outside of work and one of the main reasons I am still there. They make an otherwise stressful work environment tolerable. Descent benefits, though the healthcare options have gone downhill (cost and coverage) over the years...we've had to switch to my partner's insurance. PTO is good but only if you're loyal and have been with the company for several years. Inclusive environment in most departments.

Cons

The wrong people get promoted all the time and the good end up having to fight to keep their jobs. They get stuck with more work and little recognition just because they're "needed". Pay is not competitive and many cannot afford to live in the city they work in which means commute times are outrageous! Upper management and executives are completely out of touch with daily operations and what it truly takes to keep things moving forward. Plus, some treat their team like dogs and hold mistakes over their head. If you don't do something exactly like they want, or make them upset in anyway, you can forget about any type of advancement. Technology is way behind and systems are outdated and don't work properly. It's a struggle to get IT to do anything (not their fault, there's just so much that needs fixing). Micromanaging is at an all time high and don't even get me started on off-shoring now that the company is for profit. It's all about the bottom line now which is frustrating to say the least. it seems they just want to look good for potential investors/buyers.

Pros

Insight into the nitty gritty of copyright/music licensing. Great learning experience for overcoming objections, empathetic listening, and music law.

Cons

Feels like collections more than music industry. Strict quotas with limited guidance. Need to have thick skin to gain anything at all from this job.
