Pros
- The electrical team in NY office is great. Everybody is supportive and some colleagues go out of their way to ensure you are learning and enjoying the process. As a grad, I was given opportunities to learn and ask questions on some of the projects (which are extremely prestigious and are definitely worth boasting if you are in the construction industry). There is a lot of focus on learning new software and being up to date on construction management practices. - Lunch and learns - Collaborative atmosphere
Cons
If you are an international requiring visa sponsorship, MAKE SURE they know of it at the very beginning and get any claims about a sponsorship from the employer in writing in the offer letter, and ensure that all the sponsorship process is executed in a timely manner. There were some "restructuring and changing of policies" mid-year and the affected employees including myself, and were not notified of this change, leading to losing out on a year of H1 lottery system (US specific). This is a huge deal for internationals.
