Pros
The work is meaningful and students do benefit from the tutoring. As a tutor, the lessons are basically prepared for you, so it's just a matter of following along in the book. The kids are hard working and fun!
Cons
The pay is TERRIBLE for what they ask you to do. You are expected to work with up to three students at a time, all of whom are working on different subjects/tasks. So you are constantly shuffling and going back and forth between students, and never really feel like you can spend a meaningful amount of time with one without having others waiting for you. The tutor also has to prepare before the session and write up notes after the session, and if you go beyond the 10 minute period they give you for that, you won't get paid extra. It's a good job for recent college graduates, but not worth it for people with advanced education or careers.
