Pros
Individual centers can be very well organized and treat their tutors kindly. Small class sizes and targeted instruction mean that teachers are able to help students shore up weaknesses efficiently. If you happen to specialize in a high-need subject, you can count on a solid schedule. If you are capable of teaching a wide range of basic subjects you can count on being used to fill in a lot of gaps or take pressure off of the high-need teachers during rushes.
Cons
Some Center Directors are less thoughtful of teachers' needs and concerns than others. Teaching hours during the school year run as late late into the evenings and centers are always open on Saturdays from 9-5 throughout the year. Part-time teachers may work at multiple centers depending on student needs, so scheduling can sometimes be a nightmare.
