Pros
Decent salary, paid overtime, opportunity to see the world during the field trips. The only way to increase salary is to travel to the client sites, because you have to work a lot of extra hours.
Cons
Very frequent restructuring/reorganizations. People are terrified of being fired. No promotion opportunities or you have to work for ages in the low level. The management understands business but doesn't understand the technology and the processes. The things are upgraded only when some 3rd part contractors stop producing some components. There is no or really poor system of knowledge preservation. There is no education provided for the in-house software except 2-weeks standard super boring ridiculous course. There are no working procedures. Tons of time are wasted due to the wrong sequence of work or miscommunication between the groups. Micromanagement, almost all the tasks are scheduled "for yesterday". The only reason this company survives is because there are no competitors of the same size, but they are coming...
