Pros

-Great work-life balance. -Wonderful people. -They have been increasing flexibility. -Positive work place. -Strong, secure company to work for. -They give the 2nd half of Fridays as personal development time to study or work on your own projects. -They allow and pay for you to go to conferences every year (without taking time off). -Teams mostly set their own goals each sprint instead of being given deadlines. -Teams are not micro-managed by managers, but are self lead. -Nice yearly bonus come January. -Never been asked to work any overtime. -Decent free coffee machine, cakes every month, frequent snacks, frequent celebrations, frequent free T-shirts, etc... -Yearly picnic and yearly employee appreciation party. -Always something exciting to work on. -Growing in their products and offerings. -Great benefits. -An hour-and-twenty-minute lunch with two 20 minute breaks during the day. -Take off for doctors, appointments, etc. as needed without losing time off. -Carfax looks good on your resume. -Overall great place to spend your day.

Cons

-Every year I have worked there the culture and enjoyment has been going downhill. -Overall salary is lower than average (however, the work environment more than makes up for it). -You have to work on a cumbersome, problematic, home-brew infrastructure that eats in on your work instead of allowing you to focus on your job. -They serve pizza or fried chicken for half of their Friday lunches. (Maybe a pro for you.) -MO workers seem slightly like 2nd rate employees in the company. -Overly expensive vendor machines in the office. -Poor decisions are frequently made on the basis of third-party software salesman. -They seem to prefer to hire contractors and fresh college grads instead of caring about employee retention. (Keep in mind no place is perfect or can keep 100% of people happy, Carfax is a great place to work.)

Pros

* Talented and hardworking team members across the department. * Opportunities to gain cross-functional experience and exposure to a variety of projects. * Team members are often supportive of one another despite leadership challenges.

Cons

* Project Services leadership operates with a narrow, rigid definition of what a “successful” project manager looks like, and advancement often depends more on alignment with a specific leadership style than actual performance or impact. * Employees with different cognitive or communication styles, including neurodivergent individuals, may find their strengths undervalued, while his or her deviations from the norm are scrutinized. * There is little room for authenticity. Employees may feel pressure to conform to be seen as leadership material. * Even infrequent mistakes can become long-term reputational markers, with limited opportunity for growth or reset. * A noticeable gap exists between positive performance feedback and actual career progression, even for tenured high performers with strong stakeholder feedback. * Managers are not consistently positioned or empowered to advocate effectively for their team members. * Policies, including hybrid/work-from-home expectations, are applied inconsistently, impacting trust and fairness. * Leadership culture can feel cliquey, with visibility and advancement influenced by informal networks rather than transparent criteria.
