As a whole, good experience for those fresh on the job market. Strong socially, weak upward mobility. - Account Manager CDW Employee Review

Pros

Great experience for those just out of college with no experience. It is a fun and competitive environment. For those working in the Chicago office, there are a number of fun vendor events that make those sometimes brutal days seem like a distant memory. Very close relationship with management, which can be good and bad!

Cons

The base salary was a joke, not sure if it has gotten better, but $25,000 is NOTHING to live off of. There is very little upward mobility within the company and as a result turn over is VERY high. Long days spent on the phone can be draining. Saturated account bases made it next to impossible to make very much money within the first year.

Pros

We all help each other to win unlike any other organization I've worked for. I've never seen an organization support their "coworkers" like CDW has. Management is excellent, supportive and not breathing down our neck but of course have expectations. Leadership is visible. The other day I got off the elevator and the CEO, Chris Leahy, was there which startled me to the point I didn't have words for her. Just be prepared to engage with variety of people often and you'll be successful here.

Cons

None at the moment. I could always get more pay but not real cons. If I owned a business, I'd model it after CDW in part.

Pros

You have the ability to sell full stack solutions, services and software.

Cons

I have worked at CDW for 10yrs and every single year they have changed the comp plan in a way that makes it harder for sellers to make money (constantly moving the goal post). Prior to 2020 CDW had little to no lay offs now it is happening every six months. They say the reasons is to reduce cost and improve efficiencies BUT as a company our sales continue to grow along with the C-levels pockets.
