Pros

1. Generally appears to be sizably less hours than Big4 audit and if you get stuck on a busy client you will receive an OT bonus (exceeding around 1,870billable hours per year is considered OT and get paid out at base "hourly" rate) 2. Exposure to a wide-mix of client work, mostly accounting/finance related, some regulatory exposure in some circumstances. More enjoyable than audit work. 3. I have personally averaged less than 50 hours per week (in total, not just billable) and I am extremely grateful for the lightened work load as compared to big 4 where I worked over 60 hours per week on average over the year. 4. Has holiday parties, firm get-togethers, which are all expenses paid (think casino trip, etc) 5. People who left big4 to come here are on the higher performing side, are great managers and people-person. High intelligence and great sharing of knowledge with the diverse background people have from their previous different big4 employers. 6. Business and employment are growing fast, I would recommend joining the team if you are considering the more.

Cons

1. You can be asked to be on projects with travel, but I am sure if you were anti-travel, they could accommodate that. I am personally opting in for slight travel with a primarily WFH role (97% of time at home, 3% travel opted-in) 2. Health Insurance is more expensive than competitors, but pay seems to be higher here than competitors which more than offsets the more expensive health insurance.

Pros

- Hybrid/Remote - Good work life balance - Smaller clients Company is trying to grow which provides more visibility within teams. If you want to be a part of a company that is in its growing stages this would be a good fit. All ex big 4 employees who left for a better work life balance with less complex engagements.

Cons

- Lack of well established internal controls and outside resources - Bare minimum company benefits - Pay is below market level Coming from a big 4, I was not expecting the lack of resources provided. It is hard to do the job without the proper level of resources. Not a well established firm yet. Felt like the company was trying to present themselves at the big 4 caliber, when it is no where even close to the top 10 accounting firms. Felt like a huge step down in my career.
