Pros

- base pay is good - potential for some down time during the work day - not typically micromanaged (unless you have that kind of team) - remote work

Cons

- Fragmented management style. Some managers tell you one thing and others tell you something different. Zero alignment in management style. - Company values are non existent in day to day work. They don’t stand for anything meaningful. - The work is mundane. You’ll be writing memos, booking JEs, and preparing reconciliations on repeat. Not the “challenging and exciting work” that is promised during the interview process - Lack of internal infrastructure. They employ over 1k people, but have a handful of people working internally. If you ever have issues with something, good luck being heard. - Health benefits are ridiculously expensive. Like worst I have ever seen. - Paternity leave = 2 weeks - 401k match is bad and doesn’t start for a year after you join - The people. Everyone is just looking out for #1 and they don’t really care about being a good leader or helping you grow. - The culture. All the bad of B4 culture with none of the good. You are just a number/metric.

Pros

- Hybrid/Remote - Good work life balance - Smaller clients Company is trying to grow which provides more visibility within teams. If you want to be a part of a company that is in its growing stages this would be a good fit. All ex big 4 employees who left for a better work life balance with less complex engagements.

Cons

- Lack of well established internal controls and outside resources - Bare minimum company benefits - Pay is below market level Coming from a big 4, I was not expecting the lack of resources provided. It is hard to do the job without the proper level of resources. Not a well established firm yet. Felt like the company was trying to present themselves at the big 4 caliber, when it is no where even close to the top 10 accounting firms. Felt like a huge step down in my career.
