Pros

Excellent mission, dedicated staff, decent benefits

Cons

Top-heavy administration filled with non-clinical staff who are inexperienced and largely inept. Nepotism and favoritism in many of the locations, depending on who is Clinic Administrator. Draconian paid time off policy (PTO) where new employees cannot take leave for 90 days, and if they must due to illness or personal emergency, they lose the 20 hours of PTO accrual for that month. Illegal salary practice of not paying providers what they are supposed to receive according to CHAS's status as a federally qualified health center. Rampant lack of professionalism and inappropriate language/behaviors that occur in patient areas and are not addressed by management. Justifiable fear of retaliation (e.g., being fired) if you do not "fly under the radar" and voice reasonable employee issues. Unfortunately, as one of the largest healthcare providers in the area, many providers have no other choice.
