Cons
Having patient centered as a core value, you’d think that CHAS’s leadership would care about providing quality care to the patients they serve. Instead, frontline staff are pushed beyond their limits, increasing burnout and turnover. Administrators rarely celebrate the wins of the frontline staff and instead ask why they aren’t doing better. Directors and Administrators practice poor communication to an extreme level. For example: withholding valuable information about the vision or direction, sharing only with their “favorites”, forbidding anyone from talking about anything with anyone, and announcing massive changes that are to be implemented by the next day via email. Directors, VPs, and the CEO have no disregard for the wellness of their employees. They allow staff to be harassed, bullied, manipulated, and micromanaged. There is little value to having any type of higher education as they promote people who have high school diplomas to leadership positions. They allow directors to target and isolate employees who have differing perspectives that may lead to positive changes, while catering and favoring employees who suck up to them. Employee retention is a joke! A leading cause of the sky rocketing employee turnover rate is Jai Nelson. She is the most manipulative and micromanaging person I’ve ever encountered.
