Pros
Pay is great and many corporate positions can be done remotely! Corporate positions are also eligible for great bonuses based on individual and company performance. Depending on the area of the business you work in, you could be doing work that feels meaningful.
Cons
Experience may vary based on individual managers. High performing individual contributors are rewarded with promotions to people management roles without regard for their actual people management skills. So much bureaucracy it often feels impossible to get anything done. Too many cooks in the kitchen on almost every project. Perfect is usually the enemy of good and nitpicking abounds. Onboarding process is nonexistent and getting up to speed is extremely overwhelming. Again, experience varies based on individual managers, but being told "that's for you to figure out" when you ask a question less than six months in? Not incredibly helpful. Very easy to feel lost with no support. Overall a very frustrating experience, especially because people in other areas of the business were set up to succeed.
