Pros

You can really be micromanaged here, and held to meaningless metrics like 250 phone dials per week. Shouldn't there be some room for quality conversations and moving actual business forward?

Cons

The pay: you will make far less than at competing companies for the same amount of work. They'll also claim that commissions are "uncapped" yet they have full control on the budgeting process and it isn't an even playing field. As you build a book of business, they'll continue to lower the percentage you're paid per deal because you have more "capacity," so there's no incentive to work hard because you'll just have a higher budget year after year to make the same (or less) than the previous year! The culture: they'll claim they spend tons of money to have a better culture. Firstly, I'd much rather get paid a fair sales wage than sift out my pay to have one week per year where you can win a $10 gift card at a company BBQ or a 15 minute massage. Secondly, you only benefit from this "improved culture" if you pander to leadership about how you're really making a difference in your community by having a bake sale and donating the proceeds. Then you can have your trip to Kenya subsidized by all the other employees who are making less than they should. The truth: come work here if you want to be treated like a child and make far less than market value for your time and talents. These people don't understand the value of a good salesperson. They don't understand that their entire business revolves around the sales (recruiting) process. Unless your goal is complacency (you'll be surrounded by plenty of people here that fully embrace that mantra), take my advice and find an employer that will value you. You will be treated like a child from day one that can't handle his own business. If you value autonomy and being treated like an adult, search elsewhere.

From Jeff Freeman, senior vice president of our CompHealth locum tenens division: I'm sorry to hear you had a poor experience while working at CompHealth. We truly value all forms of feedback and appreciate what you have shared in your review. As you mentioned, our sales compensation plans are uncapped, and we will continue to work closely with our external partners to ensure that they remain competitive in the marketplace. Additionally, we strive to maintain a healthy and balanced culture, however, understand that different people have different ideas and priorities on how to achieve this balance and appreciate your suggestions. Finally, maintaining a culture of inclusion, where all our people have a voice, and feel safe and empowered to use it is important to us. If you are open to it, I would like to learn more about your feelings around a lack of anonymity in our surveys and the fear of retaliation as neither of these have a place in our division or our organization. Please feel free to contact me directly at (801) 930-3804, and thank you again for your review and feedback.

Pros

CHG sincerely cares about people. I love working here and feel that my leaders always have my back. I'm also proud of the positive difference we're making in the world. In addition to supporting the healthcare system, we help send medical providers on mission trips around the world.

Cons

Not much to mention here. Wish we had more sabbaticals offered. Better 401(k) match would be appreciated, as well.

Pros

Ability to work from home. OK pay. Mostly great people to work with.

Cons

Used to be a company that never laid people off. Now it seems that every month, some group has layoffs. We are being told that AI won't replace any people, yet people are being laid off and not replaced. Promotions from within are rare. VPs are hired from outside the company. Culture has changed. Bad behavior is tolerated if that person gives good results for the bottom line. Leaders can push to have people in other departments demoted or fired. Many leaders only pay lip service to Work/Life balance. I often take my computer with me on my days off so I can jump on and take care of things. I frequently answer emails and phone calls on days off. Lots of pressure to come into the office to work, even if the rest of your team isn't there. Messaging from management is confusing. We are told that CHG is gaining market share in a difficult market and then told that CHG isn't meeting its goals, so raises will be very small and the bonuses won't be that great. But somehow CHG is doing really well. Skip level 1:1 are a waste of time. I've figured out that if I just get whoever I'm talking to talking about their stuff, I don't actually have to say anything. If I do manage to bring up a concern or ask a question, I'm told that I'm making an interesting point, but I don't get any further information or answers. Basically, CHG has become just like any other corporation.
